Human leg - In common usage, a human leg is the lower limb of the body, extending from the hip to the ankle, and including the thigh, the knee, and the cnemis. In human anatomical terms, the leg is the part of the lower limb that lies between the knee and the ankle.
Uniramous - An arthropod leg is said to be uniramous when it has only one branch. Arthropod limbs are typically biramous, with two branches: a sturdy lower walking limb, with a feathery upper breathing limb (also called a gill limb).
Fascial compartment - On the human body, the limbs can be divided into segments, such as the arm and the forearm of the upper limb, and the thigh and the leg of the lower limb.
